FREDRIK S. HANA | Director / Editor / Writer

The essence of my creative goal is to use genre cinema to tell personal, challenging stories that explore complex human emotions. I’m into creating vivid imagery, often through practical effects and handmade miniatures, to bring my projects to life in ways both tangible and visually striking.

Early on, I teamed up with a group of like-minded creatives, forming a collective to make short films and music videos—working as director, writer, and editor. My work has since traveled the world, starting in 2013 with Angst, Piss & Drid at Fantastic Fest in Austin, and I’ve had the privilege of screening at over 100 film festivals. In 2021, my first documentary, CODE NAME: Nagasaki, won the Grand Jury Award for Best Documentary at Slamdance, and in 2022, my experimental short FROM.BEYOND was honored with the Méliès d'Or for Best European Fantastic Film at the Sitges Film Fesitval and the Best International Short Film Award at the Fantasia Film Festival.

Currently, I’m working on a feature film adaptation of FROM.BEYOND alongside other shorter projects, and I’m always open to new collaborations with fellow filmmakers, writers, and creatives.

I am based in Stavanger, Norway.

I collect original movie posters and limited Blu-rays like there's no tomorrow.
